Kodi/SPMC/XBMC is one of the coolest media player apps that is open source and cross platform (even on Android/IOS) and can do all sorts of things like stream video for various websites and put it where u can watch from your couch. You can get mobile apps to remote control your Kodi and use it like the old TIVOs to record video as well…. and watch LOTS of free TV!

Mobile Remote Apps
u can control it with a webbrowser from any PC on your wifi once u set it up and then with the mobile apps u can browse thru your library and everything from the web or smartphone/tablet… and or even control your tablet with your smartphone! If the IP address is 192.168.1.100 then to access the web interface you would enter in any web browser http://192.168.1.100 and be able to control your Kodi box/stick..

Subzero is rightly billed as an all-in-one Kodi addon. However, you’ll find it heavy on specific content, namely boxing, MMA, and other combat sports, along with a healthy helping of adult-oriented cartoons. Today, we’re going to be taking a look at the interface, installation process, content options, along with a way to stay safe when using Kodi. Read on!
For the major US Sports, including NBA Basketball, MLB Baseball, American Football, and NHL Ice Hockey, there is plenty to keep you happy. There is also a great selection of MMA Mixed Martial Arts. But you will also find motorsports, soccer tennis, rugby, and much more besides. In this guide, we will tell you everything you need to know about the Sparkle addon, what you can find on it, and how to download and install it onto your Kodi device.
It features a massive variety of movies and TV series packed into a single unified interface.
FightTube offers links to streams of almost every combat sport you can think of. How To Install Kodi (and Fusion) on a Amazon Firestick
Oh and the Amazon Fire makes a great Kodi/XBMC device… especially since it’s Android based…. the remote works waaay better than most Android boxes/sticks BUT u can’t use external storage (like USBs or SD cards) or non Amazon peripherals (like wireless keyboards and controllers)
there are other Android sticks and boxes that come preinstalled with Kodi/XBMC so just search Amazon
Another option for Android devices is a fork of the Kodi code called SPMC
Semper Media Center (SPMC in short) is a android-minded fork of Kodi, by the former Kodi android maintainer, Koying
SPMC has a different app ID from Kodi, so both can be installed side by side at the same time.
There are version of it for various devices and you can find a specific one made for Amazon Firesticks called FTG SPMC. You can download it an other Android apps at
He also has a Facebook group https://facebook.com/groups/firetvguru
(SN: haven’t seen any FTG updates of late…)
And there also OpenELEC which is a lightweight linux distribution that you can use as an alternate OS (operating system) on your system or from a USB flash drive to turn your PC/laptop/netbook into a HTPC (Home Theatre Personal Computer). I currently have my Netbook and a full HTPC loaded with OpenELEC and it’s really nice and easy to update to the latest version of OpenELEC.
There is a fork of OpenELEC called LibreELEC which is updated more frequently than OpenELEC…
LibreELEC is ‘Just enough OS’ for Kodi, a Linux distribution built to run Kodi on current and popular mediacentre hardware. We are an evolution of the popular OpenELEC project. LibreELEC software will be familiar to OpenELEC users, but the project follows its own path and has intentional differences
