Holding her phone in one hand and a shotgun in the other, Gaines figured that her only defense against being killed in front of her five-year-old son Kodi, was sunlight. A pregnant black woman is in prison for defending herself. Mainstream gun groups are silent.

And where oh where isthe NRA????

She had a concealed carry permit. The gun wasn’t even loaded. Now she’s facing two years in prison.

Last summer, a black woman in Michigan defended herself, her mother, and her 2-year-old daughter with a registered (and unloaded) gun against a woman who she and her attorneys say tried to hit them with a car. Fake black activist social media accounts linked to Russian government

A social media campaign calling itself “Blacktivist” and linked to the Russian government used both Facebook and Twitter in an apparent attempt to amplify racial tensions during the U.S. presidential election, two sources with knowledge of the matter told CNN. The Twitter account has been handed over to Congress; the Facebook account is expected to be handed over in the coming days. Continue reading

Dear White People, Please Stop Pretending Reverse Racism Is Real

White tears especially wanna be liberal ones are kinda humrous… fight your fight on YOUR front not ours….

Earlier in the summer, I wrote a column about Black Lives Matter Toronto in which I said people who’ve never experienced racism—particularly politicians and media pundits—should be careful when weighing in on the subject, especially if they’re just going to be dismissive.

One of my friends reacted to the piece with absolute outrage. This person, a white male journalist, told me that I was trying to “shut down white voices.” Towards the end of our exchange, in which he admitted he was worried he was eventually going to lose his job to a person of colour, he called me a “bigoted little witch.” Continue reading
